About Us...

Hicks & Hart was founded by Catherine Hicks and Kate Hart. After more than 20 years each in senior corporate roles across hospitality, leisure, retail and consultancy, they decided to retrain at the prestigious Inchbald School of Design to become professional garden designers. Together they have harnessed their shared passion for gardens, design and sustainability and have seamlessly transferred their extensive skills in client, project, event and budget management to deliver a professional and creative experience for clients and suppliers alike.

Kate Hart

Kate spent 20 years in hospitality, running hotels, restaurants and events prior to launching Hicks & Hart with Catherine. Most recently she headed the team developing and opening the Nomad Hotel in Covent Garden where she was General Manager, achieving the Times’ Top 50 Hotels and Conde Nast Top 50 in its first year. Prior to this she consulted at the award-winning Beaverbrook Hotel in the Surrey Hills. Kate has also been General Manager at The Capital and The Levin Hotels in Knightsbridge where she opened Outlaws restaurant at the Capital, winning a Michelin Star in its first year; won Independent Hotelier of the Year; and was Chairman of Pride of Britain Hotels. Kate lives in London with her two young sons, who like to keep her on her toes.

Catherine Hicks

Catherine spent 30 years in senior communications roles before changing careers to build Hicks & Hart with Kate. She advised some of the world’s largest companies in the retail and leisure sectors as a Partner at communications agency Brunswick; ran global communications and fashion PR for Gap out of New York; served as Group Corporate Affairs Director on the Executive Board at Sky in the UK; and held the same title at Associated British Foods (ABF) where she was also responsible for instigating an ambitious sustainability strategy for retail brand Primark. Catherine lives in London and North Norfolk with her husband and son and her two dogs, Steve and Humphrey.
